Backing
up to a floppy disk: Error# 61 Disk full
Backup alternatives:
- Use a Zip, Phantom, or
Imation Drive for backup.
- Backup to a CD
or CDRW
- Depending on the
amount of data that you enter, most individually users can get by
for about 1yr using a compression utility like WinZip after doing a
repair/compact to compress their data and transfer it to a floppy disk.
- Use a network
connection to backup to another drive on the network. This requires a
minimum of two network cards and a cable. A PCMCIA 10/100 network card
for a laptop is now in the range of $40. A network card for a desktop
is ~$10-30. If you only have two computers to connect, you must use a Crossover
versus Straight-thru cable. Most computer stores offer
installation service that may be free if you buy the products from them.
- Save a copy of the
data to an FTP site on the Internet or a flash drive.
- Any alternative should
also consider the possibility of a disaster such as a fire or flood and the
proximity of a backup to the original.
